Nursing students during a demonstration in the SIM Lab

The Nursing Program at Concord University utilizes state-of-the-art technology and equipment in order to provide the best possible learning opportunities.

Hands-on learning tools include high-tech manikins, an Anatomage table, and portable workstations.

Our educational facilities include a Skills Lab, a SIM Lab, and a Virtual Reality Immersion Room.

The equipment used in both the SIM Lab and the Skills Lab is provided by CAE Healthcare, a leading high-tech company that offers cutting-edge training and simulation.

A quote from CAE Healthcare that reads

The Nursing Program's Skills Lab, located in the Fine Arts building

The Skills Lab is a high-tech classroom laboratory where nursing students practice and demonstrate the skills they learn throughout the program.

This space allows nursing students to practice essential skills such as wound care and IV starts or injections. They can also practice managing traumas such as heart attacks, strokes, and even overdoses.

The Nursing Simulation Lab, located in the Alexander Fine Arts building.

The SIM Lab is a fully-equipped simulation laboratory that houses state-of-the-art manikins, 360° cameras with video feedback, and customizable scenarios.

Dr. Holt demonstrates an interactive virtual hospital room

The Virtual Reality Immersion Room from Echo Healthcare features fully interactive surfaces on the walls and floor, customizable content, sounds and smells that work together to give students real-life experience in a safe environment.

Students can practice their skills in any realistic simulated environment, whether it be a virtual hospital room, ambulance, or disaster scenario, all from the safety of the classroom.

The Anatomage Table is the only fully segmented real human 3D anatomy system. Users can visualize anatomy exactly as they would on a fresh cadaver. Individual structures are reconstructed in accurate 3D, resulting in an unprecedented level of real anatomy, dissectible in 3D. Anatomy is presented as a fully interactive, life-sized touch screen experience, in operatory bed form. The Table allows for exploration and learning of human anatomy beyond what any cadaver could offer.

Concord University has three Anatomage tables, one of which is used in the Nursing program.

Department of Nursing Faculty and Staff
