Welcome to the Department of Nursing
We currently offer three pathways that result in a Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree. Admission to Concord University and declaration of Nursing as a major does not guarantee a spot in the Nursing Program. To be considered for admission to the Nursing Program, candidates must satisfy requirements for the appropriate pathway. Explore the pages below to see which of our pathways is right for you!
Accreditation
The baccalaureate degree program in nursing at Concord University is accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (http://www.ccneaccreditation.org). The program is also regionally accredited in the state of West Virginia by the Higher Learning Commission (https://www.hlcommission.org/)National accreditation allows our graduates to go across state lines if they want to further their education.
Graduates can go on to earn higher degrees in nursing, with opportunities in informatics, public health, leadership, or administration.
Career examples include a clinical nurse specialist (CNS), a nurse practitioner (NP), or a certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNA).
BSN Program Mission
The mission of Concord University’s BSN Program is to prepare competent, professional, compassionate nursing graduates dedicated to equitable, safe, quality, service-minded, patient-centered care and leadership throughout diverse populations to improve the lives of our students and communities across the region and beyond.

Department of Nursing Faculty and Staff
The nursing faculty at CU have more than 100 years of combined nursing experience in all areas of nursing care, from neonatal intensive care units and emergency care to nursing education and administration.
