Concord University and University of Akron School of Law 3+3 Agreement

Concord University is proud to offer an 3+3 pathway in partnership with the University of Akron School of Law, enabling students to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a Juris Doctor (JD) in just six years. This program provides an exciting opportunity for students to fast-track their education and embark on a legal career sooner.

Eligibility and Pathway Overview

Students in the following Concord University majors are eligible to participate in the 3+3 agreement:

Students must work closely with their academic advisor to ensure they meet all program requirements and stay on track for law school admission. The pathway is designed to combine three years of undergraduate study at Concord University with three years at the University of Akron School of Law.

  • Years 1–3: Concord University Students will complete their general education and major requirements at Concord University. Academic planning will include courses that prepare students for law school, such as ethics, logic, public speaking, and government.

  • Year 4: Transition to Akron Law In the fourth year, students will begin their first year at the University of Akron School of Law, which counts as the final year of their undergraduate degree.   • Years 5–6: Law School at Akron Students complete their JD requirements over the next two years, graduating with a Juris Doctor degree.

The 3+3 agreement is a valuable opportunity for motivated students to pursue a legal education efficiently while gaining a robust undergraduate experience

To qualify for the 3+3 agreement, students must:

  • Complete at least 91 undergraduate credits by the end of their third year.
  •  Meet all academic, financial, and disciplinary standards at Concord University.
  •  Satisfy the character and fitness standards required by Akron Law.
  •  Achieve an LSAT score at or above Akron Law’s 25th percentile (currently 151).
  •  Maintain an undergraduate GPA at or above Akron Law’s median (currently 3.52).

Students must submit their law school application via the Law School Admissions Council (LSAC) and take the LSAT or GRE by the winter of their third year. They must also provide a certificate of eligibility, available at Akron’s 3+3 website.
