Biography
Jason Lockart was raised in New Jersey in a family deeply rooted in arts education, an environment where music and creativity were central to his upbringing. His early experiences in choirs, marching band, and various performance groups nurtured his passion for the arts, leading him to serve as the touring guitar tech for Electric Light Orchestra while also pursuing a career in writing, recording, and performing original music.
After relocating to Beckley, West Virginia, Jason established a successful marketing company, producing countless full-scale video projects and designing branding concepts for both existing and startup companies. His work included developing marketing campaigns, websites, and social media presences for clients across the state over more than 12 years.
As co-founder and creative director of WVCollective, an arts nonprofit in Southern West Virginia, Jason is committed to promoting the region’s artistic community. He directs plays and musicals and co-produces local festivals, including WVPubfest, in an effort to foster and promote the cultural vibrancy of the area.
Jason currently brings his expertise to Concord University, focusing on advancing marketing initiatives, and unifying the branding image of this storied institution.
