Biography
Danita is returning to her hometown of Princeton, West Virginia, following a 33-year career as a Registered Nurse and Certified Pediatric Nurse. She joined Concord University as the Clinical Education Coordinator and an Assistant Professor of Nursing in 2022. Prior to that she worked full time as a Pediatric RN with experience in Pediatrics, Pediatric Intensive Care, Pediatric Emergency, and Neonatal Intensive Care. Danita was also an instrumental piece in the creation of a Pediatric Critical Care Transport Team and assisted with transporting critically ill children. With her strong leadership skills, she has functioned as a Charge and Resource Nurse for the majority of her nursing career. She also served as a Nurse Educator for a General Pediatric Unit and Pediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) in addition to the Charge/Resource Role. Danita is a member of the Society of Pediatric Nurses (SPN), American Nurses Association (ANA), North Carolina Nurses Association (NCNA), Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, and serves as a Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Instructor for the American Heart Association (AHA). Her love of Pediatrics and ability to provide exceptional patient care is only third behind her love for her Dad (first) and her French Bulldog – Bubby (second)!
