CU ASPIRE
About CU-ASPIRE
The CU-ASPIRE Program, which stands for Concord University – Achieving a Sense of Belonging, Persistence, Retention, and Equity, was established with generous support from the Benedum Foundation grant. Our primary objective is to enhance graduation persistence rates among underrepresented students, including underrepresented minorities, low-income individuals, and first-generation students from West Virginia and southwest Pennsylvania (Benedum service area).
The program aims to:
- Increase the sense of belonging
- Foster an inclusive, culturally responsive environment
- Provide academic, social, and career support crucial for sustained success at Concord
To realize our mission and objectives, CU-ASPIRE collaborates with various campus departments, organizations, and groups to offer events, workshops, and support services to CU-ASPIRE participants.
Fresh Start Program
Thanks to the funding received, CU-ASPIRE has expanded the Fresh Start summer bridge program for incoming freshmen into a comprehensive 10-day residential program. This initiative provides participating students with a valuable head start on their college journey, helping them acclimate to the Concord campus before embarking on their first year. Further details about the Fresh Start summer bridge program can be found here.
