Bachelor of Science in Nursing – BA/BS to BSN

Concord University’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is nationally accredited by the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE) and regionally accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC). Concord’s BSN program was established in 2022, meaning the curriculum is fresh and up-to-date with learning spaces, equipment, and technology designed for the 21st century.

The BA/BS to BSN pathway is offered in-person on Concord’s beautiful Athens campus. This program is for those who already have a BA or BS degree, but who are not Registered Nurses. All eligibility requirements must be met prior to entering the accelerated nursing program.

This pathway is offered in-person on Concord’s beautiful Athens campus. This program is for those who already have a bachelor’s degree (BA or BS) but are not licensed Registered Nurses. Students in this program come from a variety of disciplines such as Biology, Business Administration, and Social Work.

This program can be completed in four consecutive semesters. See below for Eligibility Requirements.

Students holding a baccalaureate degree in another field from a regionally-accredited institution must apply for formal admission to the BSN program. These applicants must have completed:

  1. A formal application to the BSN program (in addition to applying to the University);
  2. Submission of scores at 70% or above on the Assessment Technologies Institute (ATI) Test of Essential Academic Skills (TEAS) pre-entrance exam;
  3. A grade of “C’ or higher in all science and math prerequisite courses: CHEM 101, CHEM 111, BIOL 121, BIOL 335, BIOL 336, MATH 103, and MATH 105.
  4. An overall GPA of 3.0;
  5. A clear criminal background check.
  6. A negative drug screen result
  7. A physical completed by a Primary Care Physician or Nurse Practitioner, that includes up to date immunizations.

Our nursing program is both regionally and nationally accredited, and meets the licensure requirements in most states.
