Color proofs are mailed to the candidates in the event they want to purchase photos. We understand that this day is a special one for families, but we ask that if you do approach the stage for photos of your loved ones, that you remain mindful not to block the walkways and crowd the areas where the professional photographers will be taking photos. In addition, there will be opportunities for individuals to take pictures following each ceremony. For graduation photo information, please contact Commencement Photos Inc. at www.cpigrads.com or 1-978-851-8992.

As you prepare to graduate, leave your time at Concord behind, and start off on your new adventure – take time to reflect and think about giving back. A gift to Concord, no matter how small, is truly a game-changer for current and future students. Each donation provides opportunities for students, faculty and the community that would not otherwise be possible. As you have been the beneficiary of previous gifts to Concord, we hope that in the future you will consider giving back to your alma mater. Remember, every donation matters! Please visit The Concord University Foundation’s webpage to donate.
The West Virginia Board of Education, at its meeting of October 26-27, 1959, authorized Concord College* to award honorary degrees. The first honorary degrees were conferred on May 14, 1960, at the Inauguration of Joseph Franklin Marsh, Jr., as Thirteenth President of the College, with Dr. Phillip Mallory Conley of Charleston, West Virginia, receiving the first such degree awarded by the College.
Honorary Degree, “honoris causa”, is the highest recognition that the University can bestow on an individual. Recipients must have demonstrated the highest exemplary service to the institution, the community, state or our society.
*Concord College became Concord University on July 1, 2004
