ATHENS, WV – The Concord University Department of Business will be hosting the 31st Annual Concord Business Challenge (CBC) on Thursday, October 24, 2024 beginning at 8:30 AM. The Business Challenge is designed to allow high school juniors and seniors from West Virginia and Virginia to showcase their business acumen in a competitive setting.
The Concord Business Challenge is designed to give students an opportunity to test their business knowledge base by competing in a variety of business academic competitions including accounting, business communications, finance, economics, computer applications, hospitality, management, marketing, and business math. There will be first, second, and third place overall winners announced in each challenge competition.
Dr. Allison Bean, Chair of the Department of Business, says of the event, “For 30 years, we’ve had the privilege of hosting the Concord Business Challenge. As we prepare for our 31st annual event this fall, we’re thrilled to welcome talented juniors and seniors from across West Virginia and Virginia to our campus. We’re proud to continue the tradition of supporting the next generation of business leaders who will shape our economic future and we look forward to seeing the innovative thinking and skills these young minds will bring to our campus in October.”
An awards ceremony will begin at noon. Students will be recognized for performance in each challenge exam, overall school winners will be announced, and twelve scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 will be awarded.
