CONCORD UNIVERSITY TO HOST 2ND ANNUAL WOMEN’S EMPOWERMENT CONFERENCE

ATHENS, WV – The Concord University chapter of Tri-Sigma Sorority and Concord’s Women and Gender Studies program will host the second annual Women’s Empowerment Conference on Wednesday, March 13 from 3-6 PM in the Pais Fellowship Hall of University Point on the Concord University campus.

The event will feature empowered and inspiring female speakers in leadership positions. Speakers will include:

  • Dr. Anita Skeen, a Concord and Tri Sigma alumna and distinguished educator and writer;
  • Nicole Ramsey, Concord and Tri Sigma alumna and Director of Community Education at the Family Refuge Center;
  • Lori Pace, Concord’s Instructor of Criminology and Sociology;
  • Dr. Kathryn Pridgen, Concord’s Professor of Sociology and Director of Women and Gender Studies

Members of the community, alumni, students, staff and faculty are invited to this event, and there is no cost to attend. The conference focuses on women’s empowerment and inspiring a successful generation of young women.
