CONCORD UNIVERSITY TO HOST 2024 WEST VIRGINIA ACADEMIC SHOWDOWN

ATHENS, WV – Concord University will host the 2024 West Virginia Academic Showdown on Saturday, March 16 from 8 AM to 4 PM. Launched in 2022, the West Virginia Academic Showdown is a head-to-head competition that brings West Virginia high school students from across the state together for regional matchups, showcasing their hard work, determination, and abilities within the academic realm. The event has grown significantly, with this year bringing more teams than ever before, and more local teams participating.

President Kendra Boggess says of the event, “Concord is looking forward to welcoming some of the most accomplished students in West Virginia in the subject areas of math, history, sports, fine arts and more this weekend. We are proud to be one of the higher education institutions hosting this year’s Academic Showdown in partnership with the West Virginia Department of Education, the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission, West Virginia Public Broadcasting, and the West Virginia Department of Arts, Culture, and History. We are appreciative of the support we have received to host this challenging and fun event that will test West Virginia students’ knowledge.”
