Concord University is committed to assisting you in meeting the financial challenge of paying for your education. Students need to simply complete their admission’s application* to be considered for a merit-based scholarship. Scholarships are awarded in the Fall semester of each academic year and are divided equally between Fall and Spring semesters. In addition, scholarships require full-time (12 credit hours) per semester and are renewable for up to 4 years provided that you continuously meet the renewal requirements. Scholarships may be reduced upon receipt of additional documentation and/or other awards. Concord scholarships/waivers follow federal regulations and require a student to be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress. * Non-Resident students eligible for Tuition Reduction will receive a $4,000 reduction in tuition costs in addition to their scholarship award. West Virginia Residents Non-West Virginia Residents $5,500 Transfer $5,000 Transfer $4,000 Transfer Boy’s and Girl’s State: $500 (Non-renewable) – Recipient must of have attended his or her state’s American Legion Boy’s or Girl’s State camp. Performing Arts: Amount varies – Recipient participating in the Concord University Fine Arts Programs including instrumental, vocal and theater. Awarded by the Division of Fine Arts and open to all majors. Hugh O’Brian Scholarship: $500 (Non-renewable) – Recipient must have attended the Hugh O’Brian Youth Foundation camp. Legacy Scholarship: $1,000 (Non-renewable) – Recipient must be a dependent of a Concord University graduate and have a 3.0 cumulative GPA. Transfer recipient must have a 2.75 transferable college or university cumulative GPA. Students must be accepted to Concord to be eligible for scholarships. Once accepted to the University, students will be provided login information necessary to apply for the scholarships below. Beckley Area Foundation – Raleigh County undergraduate, incoming and returning students may apply. Link active during application window. Roth Memorial Scholarship – Current students may apply. (Deadline: 3/18/2024) Department of Social Work & Sociology Scholarships – All students pursuing a degree in Social Work & Sociology may apply. Department of Business Scholarships – All students pursuing a Business degree may apply. (Deadline: 3/31/2024) Department of Social Sciences Scholarship – Current students may apply. George Floyd Memorial Scholarship – Open to students who are seeking careers with the intent on making a positive impact on the world as advocates for social change. Jonathan Powell Scholarship – Dedicated to assisting childhood cancer survivors, or parents or siblings of a childhood cancer survivor or cancer victim. Lt. Aaron L. Crook Memorial Scholarship – To be eligible for the Lt. Aaron L. Crook Memorial Scholarship, a Concord student must be a child of a first responder (EMT, paramedic, firefighter or police officer) and must be a resident of Mercer or Summers counties.Scholarships & Programs
