Bean Jr, Michael

Biography

Dr. Michael R. Bean Jr. was a student athlete at Hampton University and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in History.  He went on to obtain a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership from Nova Southeastern University. While obtaining his Master’s degree he taught middle school History. Because he wanted to touch the lives of both students and families, and engage the community, he began pursuing his Ph.D. in Educational Administration and Higher Education at Capella University. His primary goal was to study methods that would improve school districts and create an environment that is conducive for optimal student achievement.

While working on his Ph.D. he was able to put his learning into practice by serving as an assistant principal and principal in Cleveland, Ohio. In this role, he was able to learn and become more knowledgeable with the K-8 School system. He is a published author of The Teaching Playbook. This book has helped educators and instructional leaders meet the needs of ALL students’ academically. When he is not on campus he enjoys spending time with his beautiful wife (Allison), and two girls (Michaela and Mickenzie).
