  • General Use of Library
    Library space (chairs, rooms, tables) for research or reading is open to library card holders and the general public. Those under the age of 16 who are not currently enrolled in a Concord University course must be accompanied by an adult at all times.
    Campus I.D. Library Card
    Concord University I.D.’s of students, staff, and faculty can be used as a library card after submitting an application to the library.
    WVLN Card Holders
    Valid adult West Virginia Library Network (WVLN) cards, may be used at the J. Frank Marsh Library without obtaining an additional card.
    Community Library Card
    • Must be a resident of the following West Virginia counties: Mercer, Raleigh, Wyoming, Summers, Monroe, McDowell or Virginia counties: Tazewell, Bland, Giles
    • Must be 16 years of age or older
    • Community patrons aged 16-17 must provide a signed parental permission form to obtain a library card
    • Must present a current state or federal identification card
  • Course Reserves – Materials placed on reserve by instructors are located at the information desk. The circulation periods for these items are determined by the instructor.
  • Interlibrary Loan – Interlibrary Loan service is provided to faculty, staff and current Concord University students. Simply complete the form via the link below. As always, you can come to the Information Desk and fill out a paper copy if you prefer. Community borrowers should contact their public library for interlibrary loan service. Select the correct form for your request below.
  • Photocopies – Copy machines, a digital scanner, microfilm/microfiche reader printer are available. Copies are $.05 a page and require a re-loadable copy card which can be purchased in the library.
  • Wireless Access – Wireless access is available. Campus wireless information can be found here.

Where do I find journal articles?
Print journals may be located on the main floor of the library. Online journals can be accessed through our Databases page.

How do I find journal articles I need?
A generalized guide may be found under the Database button (see above) under “Using Databases” for a concise and simple review for finding articles you need. We also offer very basic instructional videos located on the front library page on the right side under VIDEO TUTORIALS.

How do I find books and use the catalog?
Searching for books and tutorials can be found under Catalog.

What books may I borrow?
The circulating books (which are books you may borrow) are located on the main floor with call numbers A-Z (general collection), QTO A-Z (oversized books, including art), Juv A-Z, FOL A-Z and graphic novels.

Can I access the online databases for journals from home?
Yes. Under the Databases page, just click any linked database you wish to access. If you’re off campus working remotely, you will be redirected to login with your Concord University email/password.
