Advising & Registration

Concord University knows that academic advising is critical to college success. We offer advising and support that provides students with a strong foundation from which to build their futures. Academic Resources are also available online to assist students and faculty advising sessions during fall/spring scheduled advising as well as throughout the academic year. Some advising resources include program progression sheets and four-year plans that outline required courses and the semester progression of each program, the academic calendar, and other items essential to successful program completion.

Academic Advising is coordinated through the Office of the Provost. For more information about advising or the University please refer to the current Academic Catalog.

Disclaimer: Every effort has been made to provide students the most accurate and up-to-date information for advising purposes. However, students should understand that programs of study offered by the University may be amended or deleted from what is being presented at this time. For that reason, it is imperative that students consult their assigned advisor not only during the course selection process but periodically to keep apprised of programmatic changes, testing requirements, course additions/deletions, GPA modifications, etc.

Each semester, Concord publishes a list of Courses Offered online.

Check the course descriptions in the Academic Catalog to see descriptions of courses and whether or not they have prerequisites.

Each major/department has Four-Year Plans and Progression Sheets, which provide a recommended road map of what classes to take and when.

New Student Orientations are scheduled April through July for students admitted to Concord University. Students receive individualized degree plans that put them on the path to short and long-term goals, meet with faculty advisors, and learn about other essential information needed to be successful towards their chosen career.

Students currently enrolled at Concord University are assigned an advisor based upon their chosen program of study.

Advising for courses are scheduled during the fall and spring semester. Students also have full access to their advisors on a daily basis.

We are excited when students decide to return to Concord University!

After readmission to Concord, returning students meet with an advisor in their program of study to determine the best pathway in the completion of their degree.

Concord University welcomes the submission of applications from all transfer students.

Following the application process, acceptance into the institution and submission of transcripts from previous institutions, transfer students meet with qualified faculty within their chosen program of study to determine the best pathway to degree completion.

Concord University is committed to offering excellent support and services to our international students.

International Students are advised on immigration matters, health insurance, employment, practical training, travel regulations and community involvement. We also provide programs and services to enhance the stay of our international students, including orientation, social activities and informational sessions. We seek to provide educational programs to the entire campus community highlighting the numerous cultures represented on campus.

At Concord we understand that students may be unsure of what they want to major in when first entering college – and that’s ok! For those students who are undecided, we have a structure in place to provide guided exploration of all that Concord has to offer. Our Career Pathways program encourages exploration of the opportunities available in large areas of interest while staying on track for degree completion. By the end of the first year, students will be prepared to transition into any degree program at CU that falls under their chosen Career Pathway!

The Regents Bachelor of Arts (RBA) Program is tailored to help students to complete their college degrees. RBA students are eligible to receive college credit for work experience, professional certifications, and military training four years after graduating from high school, do not hold a baccalaureate degree, and meet Concord’s general admission requirements.

Eligible students meet with the RBA Advisor to design their program of study.

Non-degree seeking students are those who want to enroll in courses but do not intend to pursue a degree, a certificate, or fulfill prerequisites for a particular Concord University degree program.

Non-degree seeking students must complete an application to Concord University.

Concord University Graduate Studies is dedicated to professional preparation and advancement. We provide quality academic programs, outstanding faculty, and a supportive environment conducive to advanced graduate studies.

Graduate students are advised throughout their program of choice by highly qualified professors.

Course Registration

Current students will receive a PIN number from their advisor after their schedules are approved. Students will then use this pin to add/drop classes online on their MyConcordU portal. Steps for this include:

  1. Login to our MyConcordU portal: https://myconcordu.concord.edu
  2. From Everyday Tools, select Student Self-Service
  3. Select the Student tab
  4. Select the Registration tab
  5. Select Add or Drop Classes and select a registration term
  6. Enter the PIN number you received from your advisor
  7. Enter the CRN corresponding to the course(s) you would like to Add/Drop

* Along with Seniors, on October 28, 2024, Honors students, Veterans, SSS, and students with disabilities will also be able to register.

New students, as well as those who did not take advantage of Course Selection in the fall, may register on January 6-10, 2025. New transfer, re-admit, or new freshman students should call 304-384-6031 or contact Andrea Tabor for instructions on obtaining a class schedule.
