Undergraduate Admissions Requirements

Undergraduate Student Types

  • First-Year: a student who has earned a high school diploma and has never attended college (student may have taken  dual enrollment or other college course offerings while enrolled in high school.)
  • Transfer: a student who has earned a high school diploma or G.E.D. and completed some college courses after high school.
  • International: a student who is not a citizen or permanent resident of the United States.
  • Re-admission: a student who has attended Concord University but has been absent from the University for one (1) semester or more.
  • Non-Traditional/RBA: a student who has earned a high school diploma or GED and has never attended college and has been out of school for five (5) or more years.
  • Non-Degree Seeking: a student taking baccalaureate courses but does not intend to pursue a bachelor’s degree, a certificate, or fulfill prerequisites for a particular Concord University degree program

Students must submit their Admission Application along with the items requested for your student type as listed in the relevant drop down box below:

Applicants are to submit the following with their Admission Application

  • Official high school transcripts with an overall grade-point average of 2.0 Or GED/TASC transcript.

And complete the required high school units listed below:

  • 4 English (including courses in grammar, composition, and literature)
  • 3 Social Studies (including U.S. History)
  • 4 Mathematics (three units must be Algebra I and higher)
  • 3 Science (all courses to be college preparatory and each course to include a laboratory. Courses might include biology, chemistry, physics, etc.)
  • 1 Art
  • 2 Foreign Language (Two units of the same foreign language)

And submit one of the following:

  • ACT (4516) composite score of 18 or above (Concord ACT code – 4516).
  • SAT (5120) total score of 950 or above (Concord SAT code – 5120).
    Score reports must be sent directly from the testing agency or appear on the official high school transcript

High School Equivalency Diploma Recipients (HiSET)

A student holding a high school equivalency diploma may be admitted to Concord University if they have successfully passed the HiSET exam under the following criteria:

  • Score a minimum of 8 out of 20 on each subtest
  • Score a minimum of 2 out of 6 on the essay
  • Score a minimum scaled score on all five subtests of 45 out of 100

Applicants are to submit the following with their Admission Application

  • Request official transcripts from all institutions you have attended. Please have all transcripts sent to:

  • If you are transferring with less than 24 transferrable credits, you must also request an official high school transcript and ACT or SAT scores to be sent to Concord University.
  • If needing to appeal admission use the Concord University Appeals online form.

At CU, an international student is an individual of foreign nationality who will be entering, or has already entered, the United States with a student visa. Students already residing in the United States and holding other non-immigrant visas (for instance, an E2, H2, or L2) are also considered international students. Applicants, who have not enrolled at another institution since their attendance at Concord, need to simply submit their Admission Application.

Students who have attended college since their time at Concord must apply as a transfer.

  • The Regents Bachelor of Arts Program is tailored to help returning students finish their college degrees. Regents students are eligible to receive college credit for work experience, professional certifications, and military training. You are eligible for the Regents program if you graduated high school at least four years ago, do not hold a baccalaureate degree, and meet Concord’s general admission requirements. You may not be simultaneously enrolled in the Regents Degree program and another degree program.

Applicants are to submit the following with their Non-Degree Application:

  • Transient permission form (if applicable)
  • Proof of pre-requisite course completion (if applicable)
  • High school transcript & letter of permission from guidance counselor (High School students only)
